Kathryn Salyer

Ruby Kathryn Salyer, age 93, of Norman, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, March 21, 2024.  She was the proud widower of Al Salyer of Norman whom she shared some of her most happy and memorable years.

Born in Wanette, Oklahoma, Kathryn was the daughter of Jack Boler and Jewel (Lee) Boler.  She graduated from Wanette High School in 1949.  Kathryn later relocated to Colorado where she had her son, Steve, and she worked at Zales as the office manager.  She returned home to Oklahoma, in 1960, and continued working for Zales in Norman.

Kathryn married the love of her life, Al Salyer, in 1981.  They were both members of the Westside Church of Christ for many years.  She enjoyed traveling with Al, spending time with her family and friends, participating in her neighborhood garden club, and hosting holidays at her home.

In addition to her parents and her husband, Al Salyer, Kathryn was preceded in death by her first husband, Ed Melott; and second husband, Marvin Pierce.  She is survived by her son, Steve Melott; granddaughter, Skye Innocenti and husband Lorenzo; great-grandson, Romeo Innocenti; grandson, Chase Melott; sister, Alene Coker; niece, Kenna Coker; nephews, Michael Coker and wife Dorothy, and Dean Coker; and great nieces, Ann Coker-Kersey and Jill Coker.
